Grounding as a Sanity Hack

Have you ever noticed what happens to you when you simply take a walk barefoot or lie down in the grass? You may start to feel more at peace and find a rhythm that resonates a calming effect on your body.

Crazy right!?!

Well, it's true...this happens because, energetically and electronically, you are connecting to the electronic current of the Earth. This is called, grounding!

Grounding is simply the practice of walking barefoot in the grass. More specifically, it is defined as, "a therapeutic technique that involves doing activities that “ground” or electrically reconnect you to the earth." [healthline.com].
It relies on earthing science and physics to explain how electrical charges from the earth can have positive effects on your body. Check out more of the science below in the articles I linked to this post!

There are great benefits to simply making skin to skin contact with the ground! When this happens, the body becomes a sponge that soaks up electrons from the earth. Of course, grounding has been around for a long time. Our ancestors used to walk around in bare feet or leather sandals receiving the benefits of the electric current from the ground However, after the invention of rubber-soled shoes (and especially our popular sneakers), a non-conductive barrier was placed between our bodies and our greatest source of electrons – the earth. So, grounding helps us remove that barrier and receive these natural gifts.

Grounding is our way to reconnect your body to our planet and your energy to our collective heart-beat.

Some great health benefits of grounding:
1. Neutralizes free radicals
2. Normalizes cortisol levels (reduces stress)
3. Improves inflammation
4. Improves immunity

With all these health benefits, let's get out and take a walk....barefoot!

Grounding the Body

Action Step:
Take a walk, in the grass, without your shoes.
Sit down or lie down and feel the grass between your fingers.
Take in a few deep breaths and allow the earth, the ground, to fully support you. Now. and always.
