Small Acts of Kindness

Small Acts of KINDNESS

Science tells us people who perform 1 random act of kindness a day can reduce stress, anxiety & depression. When you complete an act of kindness, your body is flooded with a chemical called dopamine and this sends a feel-good message to the brain. It can also boost your oxytocin levels and increase serotonin, sometimes called "the happy chemical". Serotonin is believed to be a neurotransmitter that helps regulate mood and emotions.

As serotonin is released in body, you generally will feel both energized and could even have less aches and pains.

Another benefit to being kind is that you begin to influence others! It is in our nature to seek out inclusion so when other people see you helping someone else, they will be filled with those same feel good hormones through mirror neurons and kindness grows kindness!

This is how we grow a "pay it forward" mentality.

So, let's pay it forward and create a kindness chain reaction across the world....

Small Acts of Kindness

Action Step:

Take out a piece of paper and right down

1. Your name

2. The name of someone you know

3. Add a blank space for a strangers name.

In the upcoming week, do something kind for each person on your list. That means, you will perform 3 small acts of kindness!

That’s it! Simple but effective! It will increase your optimism, connection, self worth, & energy.
